Michael Soper

Each day, talented employees abandon the impersonal, "assembly line" mentality of large organizations. Some of the best have joined TeamSoper, becoming independent consultants themselves.

The advantages of TeamSoper are many: You work directly with the experts. They do not delegate your work to "junior partners" who are qualified enough to keep your business, but not empowered to make it an outstanding success.

Our clients have learned about us through this site. Their first requests are often for a "Joint Review" of their fund-raising programs.

Click on. I believe the more you learn about us, the more you will come to value having an expert fundraising partner on your team.

MICHAEL SOPER'S EXPERIENCE

Michael Soper is President, TeamSoper and the Development & Marketing Management Corporation. Formerly, he was Senior Vice President, Development at PBS and WETA.

At PBS, Soper managed all fundraising support services supplied to member stations, including the development of the "TV Worth Watching ... TV Worth Paying For" and "Funded by the Annual Financial Support of Viewers Like You" themes / campaigns. Formal station evaluations rated Soper's services and teams as providing outstanding customer service, focused on those areas of greatest importance to the financial success of the stations.

WILL / Urbana's Facility Dedication

In 1991, Soper assembled an industry-wide panel of 14 top Board members from PBS, CPB, and APTS to review funding trends and recommend specific strategies for increasing individual, corporate, foundation, and government funding of public television. Titled, "Funding The Vision," the report is still used by PBS stations nationwide as a key element in their fundraising strategies.

TeamSoper.Com's client list includes the NAACP / Baltimore; WQED / Pittsburgh; World Wildlife Fund - International (WWF), Gland, Switzerland; Society of Women Engineers / Chicago; The Children's Inn at NIH (National Institute of Health), Bethesda; WNPT / Nashville; KWBU / Waco; CPB; PBS and; the ALS Foundation / Los Angeles.

Soper consults with nonprofits' leadership, management, marketing, and fundraising professionals. Proprietary computer models help clients reach consensus on problems / solutions. His "hand picked" consulting teams provide complete marketing capabilities - direct mail campaigns, e-mail communications, copywriting, list segmentation, artwork, production and mailing.

Soper understands that to seek gifts, you must understand the joy of giving them.

In 2002, TeamSoper published three national research studies on public television (Image, Brand Resonance, and Member Attitudes). With the publication of "The Soper Manifesto," he will assist interested stations in testing new approaches to lower-level giving. His occasional TeamSoper eBulletins are available at no cost by e-mail request.

Soper received his Master's Degree in Journalism with a minor in Advertising from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL in May 1998, where, in 1973, he also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). His hobbies and personal interests include amateur astronomy, woodworking, and cycling. Soper now works and lives in a passive solar home, office, and astronomical dome observatory of his own design in the mountains above Midway, Utah.
